Submarine disaster unfolds in "Kursk"

Writer: Stephen Andre Richard

"Kursk" is a movie based on the K-141 Kursk submarine disaster in the Barents Sea during a Russian naval exercise in 2000. 118 sailors lost their lives while 23 survived in the explosion that sunk the submarine. The survivors' fate, however, remained in the balance as political obstacles delayed their rescue.
